Helping Victims of Disasters

In response to regional, national or global disasters, Silicon Valley Community Foundation frequently establishes charitable funds to provide relief to residents in the affected regions.

SVCF works to identify effective organizations providing disaster relief and recovery to the affected areas. These will include local, national and/or international agencies serving the needs of local residents affected by disasters such as hurricanes, floods and earthquakes. Grants will be made from the charitable funds established by SVCF to these disaster relief organizations. SVCF performs due diligence on all disaster relief organizations to which funds will be granted.

If SVCF has not established a fund, we frequently provide links to organizations that are responding to specific disasters. During an emergency, you will find opportunities to help address major issues on this page.

In addition, the SVCF Community Endowment Fund is used as a savings account to protect and serve critical local needs. When local emergencies or natural disasters strike, this flexible, unrestricted fund lets us step in and provide support.
