Holiday Train on Dec. 3-4 marks the start of the season of giving

Decorated with thousands of lights, the Caltrain Holiday Train presented by Silicon Valley Community Foundation will visit nine Caltrain stations from San Francisco to the South Bay on Saturday, Dec. 3 and Sunday, Dec. 4.* At each of the Holiday Train’s 20-minute station stops, people can join in singing with onboard carolers and a Salvation Army brass band. Santa, Mrs. Claus and their extended family – including Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer – will get off the train to greet guests and pose for pictures.

Visitors are encouraged to help make the holidays brighter for local children by bringing a new, unwrapped toy to donate when they come to see the Holiday Train. Representatives from The Salvation Army and the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program will be at every station collecting toys for local children. Since the inception of the Holiday Train, generous Bay Area residents have brought more than 50,000 toys to Caltrain stations.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, the Holiday Train will begin in San Francisco and will visit Burlingame, Redwood City, Mountain View and Santa Clara.

On Sunday, Dec. 4, the train begins in San Francisco and will visit Millbrae, San Mateo, Menlo Park and Sunnyvale.

This free event provides holiday cheer for youngsters and families, while offering visitors the opportunity to make a gift to children in need, so please come and join the fun!
